Are all sessions virtual?
Yes, I currently hold all sessions virtually.
What are the advantages of virtual counseling?
Virtual counseling allows for you to receive nutrition counseling from the comfort of your own home while still complying to HIPPA regulations. It also allows for quick sessions between activities of our busy lives.
What insurance do you accept?
I currently accept all Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare and UMR insurance plans. If I do not accept your insurance, I can also provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement purposes. Please reach out if you would like more information.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give Whitney Larsen Nutrition 24 hours notice to avoid the $40 cancellation fee. If appointments are able to be rescheduled during the same week of the cancelled appointment, cancellation fee will be waived.
What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?
Nutritionist is a broad term used to describe anyone who has studied nutrition to some extent. As a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist, I have the education and licensure to provide and prescribe nutrition counseling.
What can I expect during my initial assessment?
The initial assessment is a time for us to get to know each other and discuss nutrition goals. You can expect to be asked questions about about your health history and lifestyle that will help me gain a sense of any challenges you may face.
What is a non-diet approach?
A non-diet approach focuses on reaching optimal health without focusing on weight. It emphasizes flexibility through incorporating balance and variety while learning body trust.
What is HAES?
Health at Every Size is a weight-neutral movement that focuses on health-promoting behaviors instead of weight.
